Is Continental Airlines really the best airline to travel on? I always see the Continental Airline commercials on TV, and they are always bragging about their airline. What airlines ask you to open the window shade for landing? I've only seen this request on foreign, ie, non USA based airlines. What airlines have people seen this on? Thanks. Thats funny, I work for an airline and we don't require that. In fact, all four of the airlines I've flown on didn't. I also fly on most of the major US airlines, and this doesn't happen. Is this some kind of an urban myth? Or, perhaps only certain captains request this? The mystery continues. I mean to say that all for of the airlines I've flown FOR do not require this. Strange.
What airlines allow flight attendants who are tall? I am interested in being a flight attendant but am 6'3" and I know they all have height restrictions.... I did find one website (continental) that said up to 6'3" was acceptable but most airlines' websites don't list their restrictions. Does anyone know of any other airlines that I would be able to work for as a flight attendant? Any information would be appreciated.
What do Airlines do with flight numbers of crashed planes? I was just watching Air Crash Investigation on National Geographic, and I wondered what happens to flight numbers of crashed planes. I'll use the famous United Airlines Flight 93 as an example. Is this flight number still being used, or does the airline replace it with another flight number? Thanks
If I have to schedule a trip on two different airlines, how long should I allow between flights? Flying one airline from my location to my destination is too expensive, so I have the option to fly the trip on two different airlines, bought separately. How long should I allow between the landing of one flight on one airline and the take-off of the next flight on a different airline from the same airport? Do I need to check in with the other airline in between? Please help... I've never flown on two different airlines before on the same trip. Thanks!
What determines which airlines and flights are available at an airport? I've always thought it depends on the deman of the people whom use that particular airport the most and the cost of the airline to use gates at the airport. Is there any other determining factor or factors? I always wondered especially when the airport you use loses flights or airlines and while those flights had good numbers of people then is must be the cost.

What airlines offer premium economy class? I'm planning a trip to London and I would like to fly premium economy for the leg room. As far as I can tell, only British Airways and Virgin Atlantic offer premium economy but I'm not certain. Do you think Singapore Airlines should have the rights to fly to Toronto again? In 1994, the Canadian Government stripped off Singapore Airlines' (SIA) rights to land in Toronto Pearson Int'l Airport because Air Canada complained SIA was stealing its business. Thus SIA is only allowed to fly to Vancouver 3x weekly. I feel this is unfair, just because SIA is a better airline than Air Canada, does not mean a national carrier can complain to its home government. Have they ever heard of the word called "competition"? I think they're complaining because they cannot face it. Now they don't even fly to Singapore! So they really ought to change their minds about this. Do you agree?
How do airlines choose flights for their pilots? I know that a pilot has to have a certian ranking to fly a certian plane, and I know that limits the places he/she can fly to, but how do they determine where they go? For example: If I were a captian at American Airlines, I might just be able to fly a few planes. Let's say one of them is the MD80. How do they determine where he/she (the pilot) will fly that plane to?
What other business besides the airlines can treat their customers so badly? How can the airline business get away with treating their customers so badly? The delays, the tons of junk fees, the lax maintenance issues, the awful ticket pricing systems, etc. Many other businesses would go belly up if they treated their customers so badly. How can the airlines get away with treating those whose survival they depend on, so poorly.
How hard is it to get hired in regional airlines? I'm just curious. Is it hard to get in to regional airlines as pilot? Or is it easy, like everyone can do it? Is the competition really hard among candidates who want to be a pilot in regional airlines? Or very easy??? I'm talking about recently. Please answer if you were once hired from regional airlines Thanks. I am not asking about right now. I am saying "when economy is NOT BAD"
Question about United Airlines changing the colors on their aircraft? I wonder, why did United Airlines switch their colors from gray and blue, to white and different shades of blue? I like the lighter colors though, just curious why the company decided to give their aircraft a new look. To the person who made the 'disguise' remark, I asked the question because I'm an aviation buff. I am interested in those details about airlines, because I sometimes build models and I also go out and 'flight-spot' whenever I can.
How long did United Airlines Flight 232 last? Does anyone know how long United Airlines Flight 232 was in flight before experiencing trouble, and also how long it lasted before breaking up during the emergency landing? wow people are stupid. don't bother answering if the answer is pointless, thanks. does anyone know how many HOURS it lasted?
What are some other things airlines can do to prevent delayed and canceled flights? Due to a recent snow storm, an airline had delayed flights that were eventually cancelled after the plane had been sitting on the runway for hours. One airline has come up whith a bill of rights for its customers to fix this recurring problem that causes unnecessary hardships on their passangers, but other airlines have not followed suit. What are some other things airlines can do to prevent delayed and canceled flights from posing such hardships on people?

Singapore Airlines: is it really THAT much nicer? Everyone I talk to says that after flying Singapore Airlines (even in Coach) they don't want to fly any other airline afterwards. Why is this? What's so great? Food? Service? More room? The On-Demand movies?
How can airlines keep passengers on the plane/tarmac for hours, and it not be considered false imprisonment? Kidnapping or holding a person against their will. What if a passenger said they wanted to cancel their flight, and deplane? The airline says no they must wait. This is a serious question- Is there a FAA rule that allows for airlines to hold passengers on a plane as long as they want? Could the passengers file a law suit claiming wrongful imprisonment? Thank you ck- that is what I thought. When someone buys a ticket they agree to terms, and that probably is where it is allowed.
Buying one way tickets from different airlines to complete a trip? Any downsides to doing this if the prices are good? That is, buying 2 one way tickets from different airlines instead of a round trip ticket for a trip. I am wondering if it makes airport security more of a hassle or any other possible downsides. what is the secondary screening like?
The next thing airlines will start charging by the weight and body fat of the passengers.? Yes, take your shoes and socks off. Step on our "United Airlines" scale. Five pounds will be added to your weight if you have a bag of potato chips and a can of sugar water. Welcome, to the Friendly Skies! Fatjerry If you are serious about weighing 600 plus pounds, you have got to get a hold on that. The body was just not designed to handle that type of weight.
Which airlines are best for overweight people to fly? I wanted to suprise my girlfriend and purchase her a ticket to come visit. She is overweight and would need to travel with the armrest up and might need an extention (not sure on the extention). I know Southwest & Continental Airlines charge for 2 seats. Which Airlines is the best for a large size person?
Do you think that airlines should create a weight limit for passengers? Weight matters in flying. With obesity on the rise do you think that airlines should create a weight limit and charge an extra fee for being overweight? This includes people who are overweight because of muscle. This is not meant to be a personal attack on anyone or any group its just a thought. Don't take offense.

What is the best airlines to go to India? Hey I've been planning to go to India for a while now, but the airline standards have changed since I last flew. What are the good airlines now? I'm going from US/Canada to Delhi. There's a new airlines called "Jet Airways", I heard this has really good food. Then there is Emirates, which has a small TV in every seat. There is also Lufthansa. Air India used to be good, but now it sucks. I'm not looking for the most luxurious airlines. I am looking for a good deal that's cheap and reliable while has other things like good food.
