What is the next generation going to be like and what is our Government against?

I was a part of Generation X, born in 1977. What's the next generation like? Also, what is our Government against, and do they have any part in the way that this generation turned out to be like it is now, or is it all mere coincidence?

1. I believe the next generation will not be all that different from today. The government will still struggle with the same issues we do today. Its unlikely that gun control, social security, welfare, same sex marriage ect. are going to be resolved quickly. I would like to say that the government will enter its natural progression cycle from far right to moderate. The part about what effect the government had on our current/future generation(s) is very fascinating but I am not sure it can be effectively discussed as a collective “generation” for example I was born in 1984 and am a atheist, gay republican….go figure! In other words I think they are too many variables (geographical location, early childhood developments, income level ect.) to characterize and entire generation of people by their political beliefs. In either case thank you for a truly interesting question, much better than all the arbitrary generalizations about entire races like some others post.
2. I happen to be 17 and this generation is arrogant and self centered in the worst kind of way. Even as I see younger kids they are becoming just as bad if not worse. I cant believe that the parents just let thier kids go wild like this. So i dont not believe that the government has anything to do with this. It is all the parents who have a say in the way that they raise thier children. I could be wrong but i see this very regularly from different places and ethnic groups that the kids are turning like this
